In the picks, Heather simply questions the wisdom of people who have never seen A Christmas Story, while Blake recommends the indie comic Jill Chill and the Christmas Star from Cool Yule Comics.

Episode 148: The 2009 Geek Gift Guide
‘Tis the season to go shopping! All the major gift-giving holidays are coming up, and the geeks of America are making their lists. This week, the boys go through some of the swag you may want to get for your gift this season: toys, books, electronics, Turtle Wax (if you’re buying things for Mike), and everything else in-between is on the list, and the guys go through it all! In the picks this week, Kenny picks Flash: Rebirth #5, Blake goes with The Web #3 and Mike doubles up with Adventure Comics #4 and his graphic novel pick, the DC Comics Classic Library edition of Batman: A Death in the Family.
Episode 147: Best of 2009 Nomination Special
It’s that time again! With only a month left in the year, the boys get together to make their nominations for the greatest in comics in 2009. Blake, Kenny, occasionally Mike, and Chase (via e-mail) make their choices and then leave it up to you to cast your votes by e-mailing the show by December 18! We’re heading into the second big movie season of the year, the time when the studios roll out all of the major Thanksgiving and Christmas releases, plus the Oscar contenders, treats for the kids in us all, and even the odd sci-fi epic. This week, Kenny and Blake sit down to discuss all of the major releases for November and December, from A Christmas Carol to Avatar and everything in between. In the picks, Kenny gets creative with the movie Hot Fuzz, and Blake stays quasi-traditional with the first issue of The Marvelous Land of Oz.
