Back in April, the Showcase boys did a special segment for Dr. Pus’s Library of the Living Dead podcast giving their rundown of the Marvel Zombies universe! For those of you who missed that episode, it appears here in our feed for the first time. Happy Halloween, everybody!

Episode 89: The Omnibus Edition
How do you read your comics? Once the monthly magazine has run its course, there are more options than ever before: hardcovers, paperbacks, digests, phone book-like “Essentials,” Premiere hardcovers, and hefty, hefty omnibus editions. This week the guys talk about all the different ways comics can get collected in the aftermarket, which versions they like the best, which formats don’t cut the mustard, and even the possibility of digital comics for your collected editions! In the picks this week, Chase is a fan of The Lone Ranger, while Blake recommends the new beginning in Fables #76.
Episode 88: Daredevil Redux
It’s a new beginning for the 2 in 1 Showcase podcast! With a slight change in format, the guys decide to go back and talk about a character who didn’t get his due the first time they discussed him — Daredevil. Blake and Chase talk about the character’s history, some of their favorite stories, the way the book is featured today, and rumors of a new movie. In the picks this week, Blake loves the first Starman Omnibus, while Chase enjoys the new Flash Gordon comic!
Episode 87: Yet Another Showcase Tangent
It’s a packed Tangent episode of the 2 in 1 Showcase Podcast — surrounded by the staff and customers of BSI Comics, the boys are joined by regular back-up geeks Mike and Kenny, as well as Marcus and Anthony of Lightning Age Studios! This week, the guys read your e-mail about the Star Wars episode, discuss the new Force Unleashed videogame, give more tidbits about DC Online, talk about the end of the war in Fables, chat up the new fall TV season, and debate whether Will Smith should play Captain America. In the picks this week, Mike recommends Fallen Angel Vol. 4, Blake enjoyed Avengers: The Initiative #16, and Chase picks Garth Ennis‘s new Avatar title, Crossed.
Episode 86: The Manga Episode
Since the dawn of the Showcase, we have been hit with requests that Chase and Blake talk about the Japanese-born phenomenon of manga. The only problem? Blake and Chase don’t know squat about manga. So in this special episode, recorded at BSI Comics, the boys invite their resident manga expert Kenny Fanguy to sit in, explain the popularity of the form, talk about some of his favorite manga titles, and reveal the previously unknown legend of Bob Viz. Fans of manga — listen up and tell us how wrong we are. People who don’t read manga — listen up for one of the funniest chats the Showcase boys have ever hosted! In the picks this week, Chase recommends the new Rapunzel’s Revenge, Blake pleads with you to read DC’s The Family Dynamic, and Kenny suggests the newest volume of the manga series Negima and the series Seraphic Feather.
Episode 85: The Return
We’re back! Chase and Blake, along with their emergency back-up geeks Mike and Kenny set up shop at BSI Comics to record a new batch of episodes! This week, the guys discuss what it’s like to be a comic reader in a hurricane zone, tell about their Gustav and Ike experiences, and most importantly, dish on the comics they’ve read since they’ve been out. In the picks this week, Blake likes Atomic Robo: Dogs of War #2, and Chase endorses Savage Dragon #137. Thanks to everyone who has stuck with us during the unexpected hiatus, and let’s hope we don’t have to do it again.
Hiatus Episode 2: A Flurry of Firsts
It’s another Chaseless week, as the power crews work desperately to restore energy to the secret lair — unfortunately, Ike seems to have pushed things further back. To fill time, this week Blake discusses four recent first issues: The Family Dynamic #1, Secret Six #1, The Stand: Captain Trips #1 and Fringe #1. Will we be back next week? Your guess is as good as ours.
Hiatus Episode 1
With Gustav gone, the Showcase gang is still scattered to the four winds, and it will be a few weeks before Blake and Chase can get together to record again. In the meantime, Blake brings you this hiatus mini-episode to tell you how all of your favorite geeks made out during the storm… and just so there’s some comic book content, Blake talks about the comics he read while he evacuated: Watchmen, Star Wars: Vector, The Alcoholic and The Nearly Complete Essential Hembeck Archives Omnibus. We don’t know when we’ll be back full-time, guys, but we hope it’s soon.
Episode 84: Geoff Johns
He seems to win a pick of the week every other episode, so Blake and Chase finally devote an entire hour to the amazing Geoff Johns. From his groundbreaking work on Green Lantern to his upcoming revamp of the Flash to the totally brilliant revitalization of the Legion of Super-Heroes, the guys discuss why they like his work, what makes him so darn good, and whether or not Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds will be as awesome as Blackest Night. In the picks, Blake goes with the first issue of the new Vertigo series, Air, while Chase is blown away by The Walking Dead #51. Please stay tuned after the theme music for a quick message from Blake about the Showcase crew’s efforts to dodge Hurricane Gustav. Keep us in your prayers, friends.
Video Episode 1: Blake and Chase Can’t Stop Fighting
It’s a 2 in 1 Showcase first! On the day of Superbuddy Jason Champagne’s wedding, Blake and Chase got into the geek argument of all time… in an IHOP. Emergency backup geek Kenny managed to record a short snippet of the debate to share with you guys in this — our first ever video podcast!
