It’s that time again! With only a month left in the year, the boys get together to make their nominations for the greatest in comics in 2009. Blake, Kenny, occasionally Mike, and Chase (via e-mail) make their choices and then leave it up to you to cast your votes by e-mailing the show by December 18! The marching band is coming onto the field, the coach is giving the Justice League a much-needed pep talk, and the fans have gone to pee. That’s right, it’s the Blackest Night Halftime Show! With the fourth issue of the eight-part epic on the stands, this week Blake and Kenny sit down to talk about the story so far, the various tie-ins, and make their predictions for the second half of DC’s best event in years. In the picks this week, Kenny goes with Vampire Hunter D: Stuff of Dreams and Blake digs the new Fables spin-off miniseries, Cinderella: From Fabletown With Love.

Week in Geek #28: The Last Lost Panel?

Chase and Blake have a chat about some of the announcements and tidbits from the San Diego Comicon — Tron: Legacy, the lineup of James Robinson’s Justice League of America, a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film, and talks about new developments for Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Green Lantern on the screen. But the bulk of the talk this week is about what may be the last-ever Lost panel in San Diego. What was revealed? What was hinted at? Put down the paper and fire up your computer — this week the Showcase boys are talking about some of their favorite Webcomics. Blake is a-flurry with suggestions, while Chase tries to figure out the appeal of the phenomenon… and the guys discuss what it takes to make a webcomic, and how to do it. Then in the picks, Chase continues to love Geoff Johns with Action Comics #866, and Blake bids a sad farewell to the comic book version of Justice League Unlimited.
