Episode 303: Free Comic Book Day 2014

Free Comic Book Day has come and gone once again! Blake and Mike hang out for a while at BSI Comics talking about the available books, DC’s Showcase series, the return of Booster Gold, changes for Star Wars‘s expanded universe and May the Fourth events under the Disney Regime, and the sad passing of Efram Zimbalist, Jr. Then, Adam from the BSI Comics Podcast hangs out for a while to talk about the challenges of a weekly title, upcoming events for Marvel and DC, and one of his favorite Time Travel stories that we didn’t talk about back in Episode 272. Finally, Blake and Kenny meet up after FCBD to watch and review The Amazing Spider-Man 2. We talk in general, then give you guys a spoiler warning before we get into the nitty gritty.

And what’s cool this week? Blake had fun with the newest relaunch from Valiant Comics, Rai #1.

Episode 278: Thanksgiving Leftovers

Still stuffed from a particularly exciting Thanksgiving week, Blake and Erin sit down to talk about things from across the Geek landscape. They review the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, talk with much spoiler-tude about recent events in The Walking Dead (both comic and TV show), and dish on the Batman crossover Death of the Family, the resurrected Amethyst in DC’s Sword of Sorcery, and the big twist in Amazing Spider-Man #698. Oh, and they’ve got a little something personal to share with you guys, too. In the picks, Erin recommends the Walking Dead novels Rise of the Governor and The Road to Woodbury, and Blake picks the Marvel Now! reboot of Deadpool. Episode 62: Showcase Tangent II

Unable to meet with Chase to record this week, Blake recruits his girlfriend Erin to sit in on the second Showcase Tangent! Blake and Erin update you on their Buffy the Vampire watching and answer your questions! Chase does manage to chime in, however, giving his thoughts on Wildstorm Comics and The Authority. In this week’s picks, Chase throws support to Amazing Spider-Man, Erin is excited to be reading Strangers in Paradise Vol. 1, and Blake was taken by surprise by the coolness of Batman and the Outsiders #5.
