Marvel has spent the last few weeks slowly rolling out the rosters for the new Avengers family of titles. ‘Tis the season to go shopping! All the major gift-giving holidays are coming up, and the geeks of America are making their lists. This week, the boys go through some of the swag you may want to get for your gift this season: toys, books, electronics, Turtle Wax (if you’re buying things for Mike), and everything else in-between is on the list, and the guys go through it all! In the picks this week, Kenny picks Flash: Rebirth #5, Blake goes with The Web #3 and Mike doubles up with Adventure Comics #4 and his graphic novel pick, the DC Comics Classic Library edition of Batman: A Death in the Family.

The marching band is coming onto the field, the coach is giving the Justice League a much-needed pep talk, and the fans have gone to pee. That’s right, it’s the Blackest Night Halftime Show! With the fourth issue of the eight-part epic on the stands, this week Blake and Kenny sit down to talk about the story so far, the various tie-ins, and make their predictions for the second half of DC’s best event in years. In the picks this week, Kenny goes with Vampire Hunter D: Stuff of Dreams and Blake digs the new Fables spin-off miniseries, Cinderella: From Fabletown With Love.

As we roll into October, the Halloween Spooktacular is again upon us! The Showcase is undergoing some big changes this week, but Blake and Kenny sit down to talk about the immortal lord of the night, Count Dracula, from his classic movies, the legendary Tomb of Dracula comic, and his appearances in the DC Multiverse and elsewhere. The guys also talk about the rest of the Count’s vampire bretheren, some great vampire novels and comics from recent years, and desperately look for a way to save the Noble Nosferatu from being Twilight-ized.
