It’s a whole new era for 2 in 1 Showcase, as back-up geek Mike Bellamy tries to make the transition to full-time! How long will he last? Check the Vegas odds tomorrow. This week, the boys are getting Looney, as the talk about the history of Warner Brothers animation. The guys toss around their favorite — and least-favorite — Looney Tunes characters and cartoons, discuss the DVDs and movies, talk about the shows that tried to carry the torch, and bat around the potential future of the franchise. With a new era comes a new rule for picks of the week! Each of the guys has their pick, but one geek each week will chime in with their Graphic Novel Pick of the Week! In the regular picks, Blake rages into Green Lantern #38, Mike walks like an Egyptian in Batman Confidential #26, and Chase digs Outsiders #15. This week’s Graphic Novel Pick: House of Mystery Volume 1: Room and Boredom!

Episode 107: Final Crisis Retrospective
It’s been a few weeks, the dust has settled, and the guys are ready to pick into DC’s Final Crisis. Chase tells us what he didn’t like, Blake tries to explain the ending, they give their thoughts about the future of Batman and the Multiverse, and talk about the state of “The Crossover” in comics in general. In the picks this week, Geoff Johns dominates, as Chase selects Green Lantern #37 and Blake gushes like a schoolgirl over Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds #3.
Episode 106: The Batman Family
With Bruce Wayne MIA (as opposed to RIP), Gotham City is descending into chaos. Soon, the Sons of the Bat will go head-to-head for the right to claim his mantle. Before that happens, though, Blake and Chase break down the Batman Family — the four sons, the assorted daughters, the fathers, the lovers, and the assorted hangers-on. The guys also discuss the eight Batman-family comics recently announced beginning after Battle For the Cowl ends, and they place their bets on who will be wearing each costume. But what are the stakes of their wager? That, friends, is where you come in. Also, in the picks this week, Blake bids farewell to Fables cover artist James Jean, and Chase is all about G.I. Joe #1.
Episode 105: Most Eligible Bachelors
When Blake has to take a sick day, Chase rounds up two guest-hosts to sit in for a Valentine’s Day special where they talk about the most eligible bachelors in comics — Nightwing? Captain America? Aquaman? Namor? And of course, they tackle the ultimate face-off — Tony Stark versus Bruce Wayne! In the picks this week, we look at Savage Dragon #144 and Amazing Spider-Man Extra #2.
Week in Geek #6: LEGO Batman-The Video Game & Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street
It’s time for another Week in Geek! This week you get a true rarity — a video game review from Blake. He talks about LEGO Batman: The Video Game, and gives you his review of the new book by Michael Davis, Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street. (Trust us, friends, it’s not what you think.) Plus, he’s got a very specific request for your feedback.
Episode 99: 2008-The Year in Review
2008 ends in just days, folks, so let’s go out with a Showcase blowout! Joined by back-up geeks Mike and Kenny, the boys announce the winners of the Best of 2008 awards, as voted on by you! Then, it’s a long talk about everything that happened in comics in 2008! The Dark Knight, the rise of Marvel Studios, Diamond refuses to distribute Hack/Slash, Archie goes back to ninth grade, and a heck of a lot more. This double-sized episode is the longest Showcase ever (we promise we won’t make a habit of it)! And instead of our usual picks of the week, stay tuned as our four guys pick their favorite comic books of the entire year! Next week will be the 100th Episode Spectacular! If you’ll be in the New Orleans area on Friday, Jan. 2 at about 4:30 p.m., stop in at BSI Comics to join the guys as they record their centennial episode!
