Prepare yourself for the biggest 2 in 1 Showcase ever! With no less than five comic book movies coming out this summer and more planned for the fall, the Showcase boys decided to do a two-part episode talking about all the Marvel and DC movies to date. What neither of them expected was that both parts would be gargantuan. In this double-sized episode, the guys break down all of the Marvel films by franchise, debate the merits, and give their own rating of each and every one — and the discussion lasts longer than some of the movies! In this week’s picks, Blake loves the new Guardians of the Galaxy, while the conclusion of “Last Son of Krypton” makes Action Comics Annual Chase’s choice.

Episode 61: Comic Book Weddings
It’s spring, the time a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of love — and a friend of the Showcase is walking down the aisle this weekend! Chase and Blake prepare for the Bachelor Party by talking about their favorite comic book wedding stories, which superheroes work married and which ones don’t, and discuss love, families and everything that comes with taking the big plunge. In the picks, Blake digs Jeff Smith‘s RASL and Chase says farewell to Cable and Deadpool.
Episode 59: Western Comics
This week, as per your requests, the guys dive into Western Comics! Why does Blake love them? Why doesn’t Chase? We touch upon great western heroes from Jonah Hex to Bat Lash to The Lone Ranger to Zorro to less orthodox western yarns like Preacher, The Ballad of Sleeping Beauty, The Kents and The Dark Tower. (And if you want our thoughts on the new Zorro comic, check our our mini-Episode 58.5.) After a feedback-sparked debate about the quality of children’s comics, the guys get to this week’s picks. Blake chimes in for Fantastic Comics #24 — the beginning of The Next Issue Project — and Chase starts to celebrate Fantastic Four #554… until he remembers reading it.
Episode 55: Cable, Deadpool and X-Force
Because you demanded it! Last week, our faithful geeks talked about the future of the core X-Men titles, but what about the other books changed by Messiah Complex? With big changes on the way and three new titles about to be released, this week the guys discuss Cable, Deadpool, and the X-Force corner of the X-Men Universe! In the picks, Blake bids a fond farewell to Dwayne McDuffie and Paul Pelletier‘s Fantastic Four, and Chase gives us a blast from the past in the Hulk: The End Premiere Hardcover!
Episode 53: The Ultimate Marvel Universe
It’s one of the most heated debates in Showcase history, as Chase and Blake pull apart Marvel’s Ultimate Universe. The guys each pick their favorite stories and talk about the current state of the line, and the guys each have pretty strong feelings over this one. In the picks this week, Blake digs Booster Gold #6, while Chase pimps the newest Youngblood #1.
Episode 52: John Byrne
Continuing our ongoing series about legends of the comic book artform, this week Chase and Blake talk about the universe-changing, highly entertaining and always controversial John Byrne. From his world-shaping work on X-Men, Fantastic Four and Superman to his upcoming work on Star Trek and FX, the guys talk about Byrne‘s career and pick their favorite John Byrne stories. Then, stick around for the picks, where the guys discuss Jim Shooter and Jamal Igle’s relaunch of Legion of Super-Heroes and a great new story arc beginning in Hack/Slash #7!
Episode 23: The Silver Surfer
In the second part of their two-part look at Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Blake and Chase discuss their favorite stories starring the sentinel of the spaceways. Heavy on Infinity Gauntlet and Annihilation, the guys also find time to recommend two upcoming reprint collections, Showcase Presents Captain Carrot and the resurrection of the Valiant Universe in Harbinger.
Episode 22: Fantastic Four
With Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer about to hit your movie theaters, Blake and Chase bring you the first of a special two part episode! This week, the guys talk about their favorite stories starring Marvel Comics’ first family, the Fantastic Four — the all-time classics, the “new” team, and their hopes for the new movie. And in this week’s picks, the guys tackle a pair of lower-profile superheroes: Hero By Night and Madman Atomic Comics.
Episode 14: Daredevil
Despite a few technical problems, Blake and Chase jump headfirst into this week’s episode about ol’ Hornhead himself — Daredevil. The guys discuss their favorite Daredevil comics, riff on the movie, talk about whether The Target #2 will ever come out, and then dish on Spider Man and the Fantastic Four #1 and Wildstorm’s Welcome to Tranquility.
