It’s only a few days until Christmas, folks. Before you hang up your stockings and put out cookies for Santa, have a seat with Blake and Chase as they talk about the holiday-themed comics that came out this year, as well as some of their favorite Christmas movies and TV specials. Chase regales us with the heartwarming story of how the Showcase crew saw Love, Actually together, the guys debate the merits of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, and everybody huddles around the virtual fire to talk about what we want for Christmas. In the picks this week, Blake cheers the greatest Junior Woodchucks Story Ever Told in Uncle Scrooge #383, and Chase cheers the return of the X-Men to the rest of the Marvel Universe in Uncanny X-Men #505.

Episode 95: Best of 2008 Nominations
The year is almost over, friends, so it’s time for Blake and Chase to make their nominations for the best in comics for 2008! Listen to the guys discuss their choices, and then e-mail your votes in. Episode 94: Overstuffed Thanksgiving Special
It’s almost Turkey Day again, and before you head out to stuff your face, listen to the boys as they discuss some of their favorite overstuffed comic books. From treasury editions like Superman Vs. the Amazing Spider-Man, to annual events like the birth of Franklin Richards and Armageddon 2001, the guys discuss the format, the pros of a big fat comic book, and some of their favorite stories. Then, after taking a few minutes to talk about what they’re thankful for, Blake gives his pick of the week award to Green Lantern: In Brightest Day and Chase cheers Invincible Iron Man #7.
Episode 90: Halloween Spooktacular II
It’s the second annual 2 in 1 Showcase Halloween Spooktacular! In this oversized episode, the boys talk about their favorite slashers, both in the movies and in comics. The guys talk about the worlds of Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street and the Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash crossover, plus a discussion of the best slasher series ever to come out of comics, Hack/Slash. In the picks, Chase is a fan of Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen Special #1, while Blake has been introduced to the coolness that is Supernatural Law.
Episode 85: The Return
We’re back! Chase and Blake, along with their emergency back-up geeks Mike and Kenny set up shop at BSI Comics to record a new batch of episodes! This week, the guys discuss what it’s like to be a comic reader in a hurricane zone, tell about their Gustav and Ike experiences, and most importantly, dish on the comics they’ve read since they’ve been out. In the picks this week, Blake likes Atomic Robo: Dogs of War #2, and Chase endorses Savage Dragon #137. Thanks to everyone who has stuck with us during the unexpected hiatus, and let’s hope we don’t have to do it again.

He seems to win a pick of the week every other episode, so Blake and Chase finally devote an entire hour to the amazing Geoff Johns. From his groundbreaking work on Green Lantern to his upcoming revamp of the Flash to the totally brilliant revitalization of the Legion of Super-Heroes, the guys discuss why they like his work, what makes him so darn good, and whether or not Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds will be as awesome as Blackest Night. In the picks, Blake goes with the first issue of the new Vertigo series, Air, while Chase is blown away by The Walking Dead #51. Episode 77: The Joker and the Dark Knight
One of the most feverishly-anticipated films of the summer hits next week, so this week Blake and Chase give their thoughts on the Batman‘s greatest enemy, the Joker! The guys dissect what makes the Clown Prince of Crime such a great character, talk about their favorite Joker stories, and talk about what they’re hoping for out of Heath Ledger and The Dark Knight. Also, Chase puts out a call to action — visit Kungaloosh Forever to help save Disney’s Adventurer’s Club! In the picks, Blake‘s girlfriend Erin turns him on to Love and Capes, while Chase is still full of love for Action Comics #867.
Episode 76: Mike Mignola and Hellboy
Chase is paying a visit to San Antonio this week, so Blake joins up with the back-up geeks, Mike and Kenny to talk about the career of Mike Mignola and his most famous creation, Hellboy. The guys talk about their favorite Mignola comics, their favorite Hellboy stories, how they felt about the first movie, what they’re expecting from the second, and Kenny even gives his thoughts on the new Hellboy: Science of Evil video game!
